Hello pals,
I’ve been busting my arse finishing the exterior on the studio this last week/weekend. My back hurts but I’m in good spirits and really looking forward to wrapping up this project and moving on with more art creation. The family and I managed to get away last week to our favourite place, Hornby Island with some friends. My friend Erica filmed a really cool version of “Count To Ten” that I will share with you very soon.
Hornby portrait by one of my kids….
For now, enjoy this acoustic live version of “Happen Now” by my friend Joel Plaskett. It' was recorded in Georgetown PEI on the fishing dock near the Lobster Traps. Joel does the song in C which is a weird key for me so I capo’d up and did it in C sharp, which is still weird but pretty cool.
In other news….
New Tour dates announced below, including Maritimes!
I am nervously excited for this new album to go out into the world (Sept 6th!). I’m self releasing it as I dont have a record deal right now, I’m ok with that and feel supported and loved by my community, In fact I feel like my career is more of a partnership with you all anyway. I’ve just kept pluggin away and trying to get better and better and more truthful and artful as I go along my way through a confusing world. You guys make it better for me.
I’ve been writing again and likely have the seeds and more of a new record. I’m not in any hurry to record though and will keep refining and writing. Maybe I’ll post the new songs in rough form as they come along? I’m getting ahead of myself here. I have a record coming out next month. lol.
Vinyl and CDs are on their way and should be here this week along with a shit ton of new merch, there will be pre orders up hopefully right away. untill then feel free to get the digital version off bandcamp
I have been savouring these last few weeks of summer and time with my boys before they head back to school, diggin into Woody Guthrie and his story. Watching the Bear and Reading Gary Snyder.
Ok, take care and talk soon.
