Mother
Profound gratitude for the feminine.
Happy good morning to you.
I’m writing this to you on mothers day. (Today) I’ve woken up very tired, perhaps a side effect of a new medication I’m taking, which seems to be helping in so many ways, except the tiredness after it wears off and in the morning. Not helpful when you are about to travel across country to start a tour. I think I have a 4 am wake-up to travel the 1st day. It should be interesting. No matter, my heart is open, the light is shining through and I am ready (ish) for the grand adventure.
I’ll be honest with you, it feels odd to be touring right now. Things feel topsy turvy with a lot of society, fuel prices, wars, aliens, teenagers and kids at home that need a fathers guidance, etc. But I am following the path laid out before in the best way I know how, I am surrounded by folks who have decided to walk theirs alongside mine as well. Friendship and adventure through music is a sacred and beautiful thing, I’m so grateful for these bonds that hold us together.
So with that knowing, that I am held in friendship and love, we press on. All of us do really. I am with you, is what I am trying to say.
We will be playing a lot of material from the new record “Pilgrimage” you can get a copy at the upcoming shows or you can order it online right HERE too if you’d like.

So far the news songs seem to be resonating with folks, I see that Tom Power from The CBC has added it to his playlist as well as Sirius XM’s north americana has added the song, and we are number #4! on our beloved CKUA chart. Fantastic. Thank you to the great people That Cordova Bay records has working the record.
But I digress, back to more important things! Mother’s day!
I have one Mom but many Mothers in my life. I need them.
I know some of you reading this are mothers, thank you for what you do. It’s not an easy task, being the life blood of the world. The life givers. You carry us not just in your belly. It’s beautiful and profound.
I know some of you reading this have lost your mums. I’m sending you love today and hoping you have good memories of your mom, I know not everyone does and I’m sending you love too.
My friend Johann Wall made this video for my song “Mother” off of the Strange Path album. It really captures the feeling I’m trying to write about here. I’ll let it speak for itself.
Rave on Mom’s!

Love you, your Mothers and your kind and loving heart. Safe travels my brother, the world needs to hear your songs and the messages contained within. Only love !!!
